This month we are recognizing Stacy Stoker! Stacy teaches at Red Cliffs Elementary in Juab School District. She has wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember, and is currently in her 15th year of teaching. She recalls a second grade assignment that asked her to fill in the blank “When I grow up I want to be ________” and she filled in “Teacher”!

Stacy has had many great teachers that inspired her to become an outstanding educator. She believes that it is important to help kids realize that math is a “creative process”, and that there is more than one right way to do math.
“The most rewarding part of teaching for me is making connections
with students and helping them to achieve things they didn’t think
they could accomplish” —- Stacy Stoker
When she is not teaching, Stacy can be found spending time with her
family, reading, hiking or running.
The Utah State Board of Education thanks you for your dedication
to your students, and commitment to mathematics in the classroom.
